AN AIRLINE pilot claims, he spotted two UFOs the size of Boeing jets in the English Channel.
Capt Ray Bowyer took off from the island of Alderney to Southampton when he and other passengers noticed the strange objects in the sky over Guernsey. 'I was pretty shook up by the whole thing. This is not something you see every day it was scary,' he said. 'They were the size of Boeing 737s.' Other aircraft in the sky also noticed the strange sighting on Monday which has sparked much chatter on UFO websites.
One stargazer wrote: 'Guernsey's reputation as a tax haven is obviously spreading through the universe.' But John Spencer, deputy chairman of the British UFO Research Association, said he was sceptical. 'These types of sightings have been reported by pilots since the 1940s.'

IT was the moment an air
force pilot realised he was
having a close encounter.
Cruising at ll,000ft, he and his
crew suddenly found themselves
surrounded by unidentified
flying objects.
Video footage apparently shot
from the plane shows a squadron of
the brightly shining 'craft', moving
and turning rapidly in the late
evening sky.
We are not-alone' This is so
weird,' one of the pilots can be heard
shouting on the tape, which has
just been released by the Mexican
government.
The crew of the Mexican Air Force
reconnaissance plane captured this
fascinating image after switching on
a camera after the mysterious
objects were picked up by radar.
Crewmen filmed the 11 UFOs in
the skies over southern Campeche
state, a defence department
spokesman confirmed.
The 15-minute videotape shows
the bright objects, some sharp
points of light and others like large
headlights, moving rapidly
Lieutenant Mario Adrian Vazquez,
the infra-red equipment operator,
said: 'I couldn't say what it was - but
I think they're completely real.'
Lt Vazquez insisted that there was
no way to alter the recorded images.
Radar operator Lt German Marin
added: 'Was I afraid? Yes.
'A little afraid because we were
facing something that had never
happened before;'
The footage is among the most
credible evidence yet that extra-terrestrials may have found us, it
was claimed last night.
Richard Lawrence, British UFO
expert and author, said: 'There has
been video and radar evidence of
UFO activity for decades, but this is
the first time that it has been openly
confirmed by government and
military officials,
'The Mexican government's honesty and openness about UFOs is
to be welcomed by all ufologists.
Let's hope that other governments
will follow Mexico's fine example -
including our own.'
The lights were filmed on March 5
by pilots using infra-red equipment.
They appeared to be flying at an
altitude of 11,480ft. and surrounded
the jet as it conducted anti-drug
trafficking duties. Three of the
objects showed up on
the plane's radar - then
a further eight revealed
themselves when crew
men switched on their
infra-red camera.
At this point, the sur
veillance plane gave
chase.
The plane's captain,
Major Magdaleno
Castanon, said he
became nervous when
the objects turned back
and surrounded his
plane.
He said: 'There was a
moment when the
screens showed they
were behind us, to
the left and in front
of us, It was at that point
that I felt a bit tense. I
believe they could feel
we were pursuing them.'
When the jets stopped
following the objects,
they disappeared, he
said.
